Eurowings (Germany) transports dogs in the cabin only: convenient for small dogs, but not an option if yours is too heavy. Here are the exact conditions, the fee and the steps to follow.
In the cabin
Eurowings accepts a dog in the cabin if its weight, carrier included, does not exceed 8 kg (18 lb). The carrier must be soft-sided and fit under the seat in front of you. Expect around €60 (~$65).
Airline conditions: Dog + carrier max 8 kg (18 lb), carrier 55 × 40 × 23 cm (21.5 × 15.5 × 9 in), max 2 per passenger; from €60 (~$65); listed dangerous breeds not accepted.
In the cargo hold: no
Eurowings does not offer hold transport for dogs. No animals in the hold — cabin only.
How to book
Pet spots on board are limited: book as early as possible.
- Buy your ticket, then contact Eurowings to add your dog to the booking.
- Prepare the health documents (microchip, rabies vaccination, pet passport or health certificate, sometimes a rabies titer test) — see our guide to international travel with a dog.
- Choose the right container: an approved soft carrier (cabin) or an IATA crate (hold). Size it with our IATA dog crate calculator.
